I am an artist who resides in the Warren, Ohio area. As far back as I can remember, creating art has been one of my favorite things. I also have a degree in elementary education. For fourteen years I taught in New Jersey. After moving to the D.C. area, I gave art lessons in my home. I've been back in Ohio for two and a half years. Now I'm once again attending Youngstown State University, where I'm pursuing a Fine Arts degree.
I have four sons and many nephews and nieces. They are the inspiration behind much of my work. Through my artwork, I hope to bring joy to others and to reflect the awe I have for God's creation.
My favorite subjects are people, especially children. I also enjoy painting birds, and use a variety of media including acrylic paint, colored pencils, and cut paper collage.
Currently, I'm having a lot of fun with watercolors. I see art as a way to express ideas and convey feelings - such as a child's innocence and wonder.
A painting of mine was part of the "Mona Lisa Mosaic Masterpiece", which is a mosaic of 70 individual paintings and drawings that collectively make up a rendition of The Mona Lisa. Have a look here to see the mural, and here to see my individual painting.
Earlier this year in 2011, another piece of mine was included into the Communityartworks.com 9/11 10-Year Anniversary Tribute.
